WAY TO GO NICKY!

I've known about Nicky Hayden (and his brothers) racing since 1993 when I saw them on 125's racing a WERA race in Kent, Washington on what is now Pacific Raceway. I've followed him since the very beginning of his Pro career in AMA. He started off in supersport on a privateer Suzuki and was then quickly grabbed up by American Honda. It didn't take Nicky long to see his first Supersport Championship while ridng Honda's CBR600F4i. He then moved up to the Superbike class on the Honda RC-51 alongside team mate Miguel Duhamel where he grabbed the Championship away from the potent Matt Mladin.

Entering MotoGP Nicky almost signed with Yamaha to ride the M1 before Honda again snatched him up and teamed him with Valentino Rossi on the RC211V. Nicky had a mixed start in MotoGP and has always caught a lot of grief from the world press because of this. Despite this Nicky has always been strong, and this year has ended for him with the best result possible. Nicky Hayden, from Owensboro, Kentucky is MotoGP World Champion!!!

Congratulations to you Nicky and to Honda!
